Health insurance is provided for foreign students

Health insurance is provided for foreign students. Foreign students who were unable to benefit from the Turkish health insurance are now included into the scope of General Health Insurance, starting from 2014. Thereby, foreign students will also be able to get medical treatment at state hospitals at no charge, and at private hospitals by paying the difference fee.

HEALTH INSURANCE IS PROVIDED FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

As of the 2014-2015 academic year, the Higher Education Council (YÖK) decided to include foreign students into the scope of health insurance. Students will take advantage of this right by applying to provincial directorate of social security institution within 3 months after registration. Due insurance of foreign students will remain valid throughout their period of study. Students will only pay 45.36 TL of the health insurance fee out of their own budget.

TO PRIVATE HOSPITAL BY PAYING THE DIFFERENCE FEE

Students will be able to benefit from public hospitals for free. In addition, they will also be able to get medical treatment at private hospitals which have an agreement with the Social Security Institution, by paying the difference fee. They will only be responsible for paying the 10% contribution margin of the medicine price that they buy.
